Hello Edinburgh

Writer's picture: Elizabeth RobertsElizabeth Roberts

We have made it to the bonnie, bonnie Scotland!!!! Wow what a journey, what a day, what an experience! As soon as we arrived in Edinburgh Waverley station to be exact, I was extremely excited to get outside and see what may lay ahead because if the train station says anything, we are in for some beautiful historical architecture! There is this one key feature that stole my attention, a beautiful skyscraper on the roof allowing what sun may be left of the already gloomy day the pierce through, draped all the way around the circle window is mint green paint with what looks like men holing a ivy garland, with bronze columns wrapped all the way around! its truly breathtaking! everything has such fine details.

walking out to the Main Street its overwhelming at first because you want to stop and take every second in, live in each and every moment like it was your very last, however we have to get to our hotel and drop off your bags, so we first make our way over to our hotel! We will be staying in the Radission Blu Hotel in Edinburgh, located in the heart of the historic Royal mile.

Fun fact: The reason they call it the royal mile is because its a tradition as a processional route for kings and queens for the last 500 years.

Today was fun and very long day, we walked around a bit but its really tomorrow where all the adventures begin, today we really settled in and prepared for our 9 day guided tour! This evening we have a meet and greet with the rest of our group and our tour guides!

love,

lizzie
